The Miracle of the Breath

I have just finished reading a book called "The Miracle of the Breath" by Andy Caponigro. This book clearly describes breathing techniques to use for healing your body and mind as well breathing exercises to connect to the Divine. Andy Caponigro has studied the history of breath in Indian, Chinese, Christian and Hebrew cultures and weaves stories and facts into the book.

The exercises are very simple and easy to use and the approach is consistent with the approach we use in Feldenkrais in that it is easy, gentle, and mindful. If you are wanting to get into a meditation routine I highly recommend the approach described in this book.

Using My Brain

Tell your brain what to do

Are you a list person? Some people are and some people aren't.  Recently I started being very deliberate with my list making: daily lists that I review every morning.  It is like I'm giving my brain a to-do list.

What I notice is that I am much more efficient and complete many more of the tasks that I have on the list.. I am giving my brain something to do and find myself organized to do things effortlessly; my timing is good and the necessary pieces seem to be available.

It is an idea worth looking at if you or your child has health challenges, especially anything that might be autoimmune.
